Clearing Cache in Kodi

If you’ve been operating Kodi for awhile then you should know there’s an easy maintenance procedure that should probably be done at least once a week depending on your usage. This helps smooth any issues related to stuttering, buffering or just any annoying pauses in your streams.

So what is this so called maintenance?

It’s simply clearing the cache within Kodi to prevent it from filling up and causing possible streaming issues. Purging packages will also help as well in this maintenance process.

What is a cache? In reference to Kodi, the common termed cache is referred to as video cache, since that it the most problem-some of all. If your video cache does not store enough temporary data in advance, then you may experience a lag or several pauses during the stream.

The ideal is to store enough of the video stream in advance, where if there is a problem then it has enough data stored to keep the video smooth from interruptions.

In this guide below, we’ll show you how to manually perform the basic maintenance of clearing the cache within Kodi.
