YouTube Kodi Add-on

If you’re on Kodi all the time and YouTube too, then you can also install YouTube as a Kodi add-on.

Just follow our guide on how to install the YouTube add-on and access you’re favorite videos and YouTube creators.

As you open the program, the you’re presented a simple menu as follows:

  • Sign In
  • Popular Right Now
  • Search
  • Browse Channels
  • Live

You can connect your YouTube account by selecting “Sign In”. You’ll be presented with a popup asking you to go to http://youtube.com/active and enter a follow code. This will connect the YouTube add-on to your account.

YouTube Add-on Installation Steps

Installation steps for Merlin Repository and YouTube Add-on on Kodi Krypton 17+

You must have unknown sources enable in order to install the files below. If you have already done so, please skip this part.

Enabling Unknown Sources within Kodi
(skip if already enabled)

  • Open Kodi
  • Select Settings
    Settings
  • Select System Settings
  • Select Add-ons
  • Turn on Unknown sources
  • A warning will now appear asking if you agree that you are responsible for data loss, damage to device etc. As long as you are a sensible user then you are fine. Click Yes

Install Merlin Repository

  • From your Kodi Home Screen
  • Select Settings [Cog Icon, Upper left corner]Settings
  • Select File Manager
  • Select Add source
  • Select None, Enter: http://mwiz.co.uk/repo
  • Then click Ok
  • Highlight the box underneath Enter a name for this media Source, type MERLIN, then select OK
  • Go back to your Kodi Home Screen
  • Select Add-ons
  • Select the Add-on Browser Icon [Upper left corner, unpackaged box icon]Kodi add-on browser
  • Select Install from Zip File
  • Select MERLIN
  • Select repository.merlin.zip
  • Wait for Enabled Notification [Top Right Corner]

So now you have the Merlin Repository installed, you can now install the YouTube add-on from here.

Installing the YouTube Add-on from the Merlin Repository

  • Go back to your Kodi Home Screen
  • Select Add-ons
  • Select the Add-on Browser Icon [Upper left corner, unpackaged box icon]Kodi add-on browser
  • Select Install from repository
  • Select Merlin repository
  • Select Video Add-ons
  • Select YouTube
  • Select Install
